Hon Cafra A.B Caino assumed office as Kajuru Council Chair, took oath of office.

Cafra Cainon Boaz, who was elected as the chairman of Kajuru Local Government council in the May 12th 2018 local government council elections has been sworn-in, barely eight months after his elections which was declared inconclusive by the Kaduna State Electoral Commission.

Cafra approached a Kaduna High Court to reclaim his mandate by seeking the Court to stop the electoral commission from holding a re-run and to declare him winner of the elections.

Following the conclusion of the case, the Kaduna State Electoral Commission presented Certificate of Return to Cafra Cainon on Wednesday 9th January, clearing the way for him to be sworn-in as elected Council Chairman.
Cafra took his oath of office and allegiance today Thursday 10th January inside the Council Chambers of Government House, Kaduna, an event presided by Governor Nasir El-Rufai and attended by senior officials of the Kaduna State Government and Members of ALGON. .

Immediately after the event, Kaduna state Governor Nasir El-Rufai described the swearing-in as the end of the chapter of uncertainty over the matter, and the opening of a new chapter for the people of Kajuru.
El-Rufai said this was made possible after the conclusion of the matter in court and the legal advise of the Chief Justice of Kaduna State and the Commissioner of Justice to that effect. He commended Cafra’s patience and commitment to reclaim his mandate through legal process, describing the step as demonstration of good leadership quality.

The Governor his delight and confidence in seeing many young people getting elected into office in the state, saying the state government is proud of their performances and achievements. He called on the council chairman to work with the commissioner of police and other sister security agencies in providing security for lives and property in the area.
In his remarks, the new Kajuru LG Chairman assured the state governor enhancing security, building peace and fostering harmony will be his priorities.

Cafra, 37, holds a Bachelors Degree in English language and a Masters Degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy from the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria.
